Stuck on "getting channel history..."

I haven't used the client for a while and for all of my buffers, this is what it shows. Haven't been able to get rid of it yet.

I use wee-slack on a daily basis and I started getting this 2 days ago.
The problem is - I'm not seeing new messages and chat history is not loading. This means I'm unable to use wee-slack at all.

I tried installing the latest weechat version via brew (version 3.3), downloading the latest wee-slack script but nothing helped.

Btw. I'm aware this could be a user (my) error, but if anyone figured out the reason why this is happening please share.

Btw. I love wee-slack ❤️. I hate when I have to login into slack online version. Thank you for working on it.

Situation has improved for me since yesterday. Messages from the history now load, but it takes a long time to get them. getting channel history... is shown for a long time.

This could well be a problem or a change with slack API. It may not be related to wee-slack at all.

I'm having this error too, it started some days ago, around 4 or 5.
For me it happens a little different: I can't get any channel history, not even after a long time, but I receive new message as well.
I tried to change the session token but it doesn't made any effects in this situation.

I was doubtful at first since there was no update since june, but I tried it and the buffers were shown (it took maybe 20 seconds, but it was fine after that).
I'll confirm in a few days if that continues to work.

Updating for the latest commit (CID 64a4395) it works just fine until now.

Great that you got it resolved by upgrading to the latest version.

@bruno-: After some Slack APIs were deprecated and removed earlier this year, we unfortunately had to switch to other APIs that in some cases requires much more requests which makes it load slower. Especially if you have enabled thread_messages_in_channel the history will complete loading much slower than before. As far as I know there is nothing we can do about this.

Since it sounds like the issue is resolved, I'll close this, but if you still encounter issues, feel free to comment even though it's closed.
