doesn't look the same when using the new bootstrap 4

When I copied the new version of bootstrap, the layout didn't take up the full width of the browser's window and the left hand sidebar took up about half of the window and was centered rather then the 300px width and left aligned with the bootstrap 3 version.

I realize that components have changed or been removed with the new version but would have thought that the layout wouldn't have been effected as much as it has.

Is there going to be a version of gentelella built for bootstrap 4?
