Why are there two repos for this? #36
Comments
👍 also confused me. |
As long as I am maintaining this plugin, both repos will be updated. @fholgado's repo is maintained for compatibility purpose, because many people set that repo in their vimrc. |
Thanks for the quick reply @techlivezheng. I think the wording at the top of README.md is a little confusing. It's not totally clear that this is the "main" repo and that @fholgado's repo is simply there for legacy support. |
I think you can close this. This issue seems to have been addressed since it was clear to me when arriving at fholgado's repo that this was the main one. |
GitHub puts redirects when a repo is renamed or transferred: https://help.github.com/articles/transferring-a-repository/#redirects-and-git-remotes |
the redirect from https://github.com/techlivezheng/vim-plugin-minibufexpl (as documented) to https://github.com/weynhamz/vim-plugin-minibufexpl/ seems overdue and makes it feel like something has gone awry somewhere. |
Hi there,
For the record: great plugin.
I'm wondering why there are two repos for this? Which one is the one to use? According to your readme: one is for fixing bugs and the other one is for features.
I suggest to keep it at one repo and using branches and pull requests to keep it up to date. In the README give cred to the maintainers.
When there are two repos containing the same thing, I am just confused as to which to use.
I may have missed something obvious, in which case let me know.
(The other repo I'm referring to https://github.com/fholgado/minibufexpl.vim)
