Using this tool would mostly allow to:

  • add uwp features and controls (in case you want native ones, better to use xaml islands)
  • use Microsoft Store to redistribute the app and update it.

I'd love to have WinMerge auto-update via the Store.

I'd be happy to buy the app there to support development. I.e do what I did with paint.net or winscp.

I could try to help by creating the packaging project to add to the solution, I'll do some tests as soon as I have some free time.
However I don't know how the releases should be managed on the Microsoft Store. Who should create the account and publish a release each time?
