Allow some parts of mrext (remote, launchsync, search), to run as a RetroNAS plugin. The plugin can:

  • Provide one location to access remote for multiple MiSTer systems
  • Handle database indexing
  • Keep .sync files up to date
  • Allow managing favorites without turning on MiSTer

Hey @wizzomafizzo - I saw the release of your Android app and realized I could reword this request to be more generic. I'll leave my original comment for posterity 🙂

The request is too allow some functions of remote to work using an interface like the Android app or webpage when MiSTer is setup to use a network share rather than local storage. One example is RetroNAS. A common setup is to have multiple MiSTer systems using a single network share for games to reduce repetitive work to manage a game library.

The use case is interacting with my game library, favorites, launchsync lists, and other features when I find a game I'd like to play later without having to turn on a MiSTer system.
