This fatal is already resolved internally, and that this GitHub issue is just for documentation purposes only.

A fatal was encountered during WC 8.8 Beta testing. It seemed related to #45547. Details of the issue were documented in p1711312760121469-slack-C05JQBR78RW and had since been partially resolved using the workaround mentioned in p1710508043999329/1710442181.526059-slack-C01DT6U03HC.
