Expected behavior

When inserting an image through the app's editor, it should be possible to "link to media" like in Gutenberg. Also, the setting image_default_link_type from options.php should be respected.

Actual behavior

App only allows to enter a URL manually. image_default_link_type gets ignored.

Tested on [device], Android [version], WPAndroid [version]

Device: Oneplus 9 Pro
Android: 11
WPAndroid: 17.3-rc-1

I cannot add a label, as I'm not a contributor, could anyone with appropriate permission please add a [Type] Enhancement Label? Thanks!

This was also requested here: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/app-image_default_link_type-for-lightbox/#post-17217795

Problem: creating a post from iOS/Android WordPress App with images, does not use, as default link-settings, “media”. That cause a problem with lightbox plugins, to view the images in a lightbox.

Is there a solution to automatically set “link-settings” to “media” for posts made with mobile app inside the app or wordpress backend.
