Using Plausible.io Analytics with a wowchemy theme

Hello! I'm using an Academic Resume wowchemy theme and trying to use Plausible.io.

There are some docs providing some suggestions on how to integrate this with a Hugo site, but I'm having some trouble.

The docs suggest to use "a Hugo plugin for Plausible Analytics", however, when I follow the steps here to extend to add this snippet:

P.S. just to be clear, the code injection part works correctly because if I replace {{ partial "plausible_head.html" . }} with <h1>Hello World</h1>>, the title is correctly embedded into the head of every page:

Thanks - that worked! Rather than using the plausible-hugo plugin/module, I just injected the js file directly as the docs suggested.

More explicitly (for anyone else reading this), I created a new file: layouts/partials/hooks/head-end/custom.html

and added this in the custom.html file:

<script defer data-domain="your-domain" src="https://plausible.io/js/script.js"></script>

P.S. I suppose my issues were occurring because the docs suggest Option 1, which is to use that module, and that doesn't seem to work with wow-chemy.
