What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open a new tab
2. open hackbar


What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Hackbar contains 'about:blank' or 'about:newtab', but it should be empty so 
that I can easily paste a URL into it.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.6.1

Please provide any additional information below.
The attached patch fixes this.
