when creating a new networked sub that you will host, if you "Allow auto add/drop requests", you have the option to create a file "saSUB.net" which contains the e-mail text sent to subscribers to the SUB.

"Create a new subscriber welcome message?" Yep

BBS will launch FSED to prep a new file. Boilerplate message can be placed with SUB name, etc.

Looks like support for sending these files is implemented in handle_sub_add_req in network2/subs.cpp

Yes. Those are in the bug related to the s*.net wildcard. This feature will allow the sysop to launch the FSED to create a new saSUB.net file or an srSUB.net file based on a possible boilerplate file in gfiles maybe?
