Issue migrated from trac ticket # 19276

component: project infrastructure | priority: normal | keywords: search docs

2021-10-02 09:51:04: @PBfordev created the issue

As announced in the server upgrade thread in wx-users, using the search function in the online documentation does not work anymore.

While I understand the reasons, I still find it rather inconvenient and believe it should have a ticket, hoping for the fix in the future.

Any update about this issue?
I'm asking not only for me, but because if I hadn't have this feature when I started with wxWidgets, I'd probably haven't moved very far, and would have probably given up.
I mean, I'm convinced that this feature is important for the promotion of wxWidgets.

I agree that it's important, but personally I simply can't spend any time on this right now, unfortunately. See also #19126.

Search does work now, but there is a problem with the CSS which results in pushing all the search results below the bottom of the page (they can be seen only if you scroll down). This is due to our CSS, but I don't know how to fix it while still keeping the footer at the bottom of the page.

There is also a duplicate search field in the search results page, but this one doesn't seem to be related to our CSS at all, so I have even less ideas about how to fix that.

OK, this was a Doxygen bug, see doxygen/doxygen@236080b which is only part of 1.8.19 and later. I've added a hack to the doc generation script and it works fine now.
