A few months ago, HyperCash launched their ICO. At one point, their market cap was larger than Decred's market cap, even though they simply forked Decred's code. The marketing hype was strong.

Fast forward a few months later, this is the current situation:

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/decred/

Both projects have similar code, but one is clearly performing better. What are the main differences? How did Decred manage to thrive while HCash slipped out of the top 100 projects?

Importance of community? Ongoing development? Ethics? Under promise, over deliver?

Is it the same thing that used to be HSR and HCash? Surprised to hear about another ICO, I thought they had one year or so ago.

Article will be useful to inform people. There is a risk to start shitting other projects, I suggest to stick to facts.

It's the same thing; HCash started naming itself hyper for some reason. https://h.cash
