Bug report

Describe the bug

Here is a clear and concise description of what the problem is:

The function Media Settings -> Video > Files -> "Replace filenames with library titles" will not work with VDR VNSI Client

I am using only VNSI to play my movies. No NFS or CIFS configured!

Under Video -> Files, is the Recording Source pvr://recordings/tv/active/ configured as VDR

I found the bug in two sektions of the gui.

  1. Video Section
With Kodi Version 14.2, the function replaces the filenames under "Video -> Files -> VDR" with the library titels.
Since Kodi Version 15 till the latest Version of 17.6 the filenames are not replaced.

With kodi 18 Beta5 the fanart and library titels are not shown, but:
An Example:
a movie show the filename "%Ice Age".
I "scan to library" -> the Fanart etc. will be shown and the library titel is replaced for that movie.
if i switch forward and back in the directorie, the fanart and library titel exists.
But, if i exit kodi and check the "ice age" movie, fanart not shown and library titel are gone.
or
Play the movie, will show the library titel after exit the movie

  1. TV Section
Under TV -> Recording no fanart or library titles are shown.
This never working in all versions of xbmc and kodi

  2. Do not interrupt the load of PVR and Guide information
    Kodi 18 will hung

Expected Behavior

Here is a clear and concise description of what was expected to happen:

  1. Video Section
Under "Video -> Files -> VDR" all existing fanart and library titels are shown,
if fanart and "Replace filenames with library titles" are activated.

  2. TV Section
Under "TV -> Recordings" fanart or library titles are shown.

Actual Behavior

  1. Video Section
    An Example:
a movie show the filename "%Ice Age".
I "scan to library" -> the Fanart etc. will be shown and the library titel is replaced for that movie.
if i switch forward and back in the directorie, the fanart and library titel exists.
But, if i exit kodi and check the "ice age" movie, fanart not shown and library titel are gone.

  2. TV Section
Under TV -> Recording no fanart or library titles are shown.

Possible Fix

  1. Video Section
Since Verion 18 Beta4, something was changed in the source code to reenabling the feature but is not finished yet.

  2. TV Section
The function fanart and library titels are not implemented ?

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Video Section
  1. went to "Video -> Files -> VDR" and scan a movie with "scan to library"
You will see that fanart and library titles are visible
  2. go forward one or two directorys and back to the movie
You will see that fanart and library titles are visible
  3. exit and start Kodi
  4. go back to the scanned movie under "Video -> Files -> VDR"
No fanart and library titels are visible
  5. Search under "Movie -> Titels" for the scanned movie
You will find them with fanart

Debuglog

The debuglog can be found here:

If all debug options are enabled, kodi 18 beta 5 will not exit correctly

Additional context or screenshots (if appropriate)

Here is some additional context or explanation that might help:

I test this behavior with:
ubuntu 14,16,18 with windows 7 with osx 10.9, 10.13
Local Database and mysql on a remote system

On a fresh installed system and in a profile on my main system.

This function under the Video Section is the only one to recognise a not scanned movie.
The movie is not a abondon movie in the database.

The "missing movie" scanner is not working with vnsi.

does this issue still exist and/or is it still relevant, it appears to have had no discussion for ~3 years and so will close with no-one likely to work on this from the team
