Bug report

Describe the bug

Here is a clear and concise description of what the problem is:

Relevant debug log link: https://croak.us/3UfefQS (Debug starts at 12:19:50.634)

Two Android devices:
Nvidia Shield Pro: Upgraded install of Kodi - 19.4
Sony Bravia Android TV: Clean install (Android play store installed 19.3)

Described events and debug log from the Nvidia device. Behavior is the same on both devices.

System settings:
(Applies to both the Nvidia Shield and the Sony Bravia)

Screen saver engages after 20 minutes of inactivity.
Screen saver is a Google collection of photos.
Energy saving settings are off.
No app has access to energy optimization.

KODI settings:

Screen saver: Black screen after six minutes of inactivity.
Audio visualization is off.

This was working as expected. One morning all my settings inexplicably disappeared as if a clean install. Thereafter, the problem occurred.

Expected Behavior

Here is a clear and concise description of what was expected to happen:

Now Playing should display album art with artist art in the background until the screen saver threshold is reached (in this case, six minutes).

Actual Behavior

Two different events.

12:22: I played an audio track. 10 seconds after the track started playing, the album art disappeared, leaving only the artist art on the screen.

12:24: The next track in the playlist began. After ten seconds, the screen dimmed, which is different from the screen saver settings of both devices. While dimmed, no screen content is visible. At six minutes of inactivity, the screen saver kicked in, and the display went black.

Possible Fix

Hypothesis (FWIW): Given that everything worked as expected prior to the system settings getting wiped out and given that we now have the same behavior on a clean install of 19.3 (on the Bravia), it seems possible that one or more settings from an older version of Kodi persisted over upgrades. Once those no longer existed, the behavior changed.

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

Play any audio file.
