Bug Description

The cutscene that plays on the main menu following sufficient player idle time doesn't play properly. I tested it on two different computers, and got similar yet slightly different results.

On my first computer, once the cutscene starts, the footage itself freezes and the audio from the first quarter-second or so of the cutscene plays itself on loop indefinitely. On my second computer, the cutscene periodically freezes and loops audio from the last quarter-second, then unfreezes and continues normally, and continues to oscillate back and forth between these two states--"normal" and "audio loop + frozen visuals"--until the end of the cutscene.

Expected Behavior

After the player hasn't touched their controller for several seconds on the main menu, a cutscene will play which showcases some pre-recorded gameplay from the first level of the game. This cutscene should normally play itself out (and then return the player to the main menu), or the player can press Start to return to the main menu manually.

xemu Version

Tested in Xemu versions 0.7.52 and 0.7.49. The bug exists in both.

System Information

I tested for this bug on two separate computers. On the first computer, the cutscene loops the first quarter-second of audio indefinitely and displays persistently frozen visuals. On the second computer, the cutscene gets stuck looping audio for a few seconds, then stops looping and behaves normally again, then goes back to looping the next second, then behaves normally again, etc.

I was able to reproduce the more extreme, indefinite looping from the first computer several times. The less extreme behavior of the second computer, however, varied in severity each time I tested it, ranging from perfectly bug-free behavior on some test runs to audio loops + visual freezing that lasted up to 7 seconds in length.

First computer specs (caused indefinite audio loop + frozen visuals)
OS: Windows 10
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8565U CPU @ 1.80 GHz
GPU Model: GeForce GTX 1650/PCIe/SSE2
Driver: 4.0.0 NVIDIA 417.88
Shader: 4.00 NVIDIA via Cg compiler

Second computer specs (caused periodic audio looping + frozen visuals, severity varied on each test)
OS: Windows 10
CPU: 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1185G7 @ 3.00GHz
GPU Model: Intel(R) Iris(R) Xe Graphics
Driver: 4.0.0 - Build 27.20.100.8853
Shader: 4.00 - Build 27.20.100.8853

I can't seem to replicate this in 0.7.85. Is this still a problem? Maybe there's something wrong with your dump?
