Unrelated to your feature branch, has been an issue for a while just never reported.

Hopefully the images help explain what's going on. Thanks!

Maximizing
maximize

Zoomed in on the maximized image you can see some weird dithering on the letters
zoomed_in

Everything is set to center without any stretching.

Seems this is more than just maximizing, it's any resizing.
