These aren't documented but there's examples in https://labs.vmware.com/flings/vmfork-for-pyvmomi (specifically vmfork_pyvmomi.py has the monkey-patch for pyvmomi)

Actually this now officially supported in vsphere 6.7 though the APIs have changed (are simpler actually).
