Installing ycm on windows 10 with gvim results in vim crash on launch #1998

You want me to copy that into a file and load it as the vimrc? I don't understand but I did as you suggested and no plugins are sourced without vundle, and ycm isn't available either. Seems like I have the same issue as @micbou, YCM is working fine on my W7 machine. I've used NeoBundle to include YouCompleteMe:
As soon as I add the above code gVim won't open anymore. I did the install.py etc, the same as I did on my W7 machine. gvim --version > version.txt

Since it seems specific to Windows 10, I installed it on a virtual machine (I am using Windows 7). I was able to make YCM work with Vim 32 and 64-bit. I think your issue is with the Vim build that you are using. You could try my own builds. I can say they are working with YCM on Windows 7 and 10. Something that you need to know: there is an issue with the official Python 2.7.11 installer. See my comment in issue #1836 for workarounds. |
I understand the issue now. You are using Vim from MSYS2. This is not supported. You need to use a Vim compiled with MSVC. Closing. |

The first time I installed it I ran the following commands:
I _do not_ have typescript installed and do not intend to use typescript.
After this vim kept crashing, so I uninstalled ycm and tried again. This time, I ran the commands all at once with the following line:
this also resulted in vim crashing. So I tried again, this time only running:
Still vim crashes...
Please advise. I followed the instructions and should have all the required dependencies.
