it would be a great addition to download a all the videos in a playlist

Instead of pasting a link to the video, paste a link to the playlist.

I assume you're talking about youtube playlists, @johnnynoone is right you can do youtube-dl 'https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLwiyx1dc3P2JR9N8gQaQN_BCvlSlap7re' and it will download all the videos.

Could you post the output you gen when you run youtube-dl 'http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTXCB-lApUY&list=PLF6E41E63A4B5B56B' --test --verbose?,

it looks like a youtube problem

Sorry, just remove the --test flag and it will download the full videos (with the option it only downloads 10 KB)
