As of now, the configuration repository uses bzr which is quite cool and has a nice Pythonic API. It's understood that other VCS could be used so we should perhaps employ a tool like http://www.ros.org/doc/api/vcstools/html/ in order to insulate Zato from the particular repository implementation.
