I ran make-release.py and after successfully building, the script returned an error, because it could not find help2man.

Given the time it takes to build (package dependencies can sometimes take a while to download if on flaky wifi) it would be nice to have the script check all dependencies upon launch, and immediately return an error to the user if any required dependencies are missing.

Hi, this is a good quality improvement. However, I will not have time in the foreseeable future to do this kind of task, so I've unassigned myself.
