Manipulating existing SVG location?

Sorry I'm a real noob so I apologize if this is obvious to everyone else, but I'm trying to load an existing svg file and then zoom into/pan around the image using the mouse. I have the code for zoom and pan working for everything, but when I add the SVG file it doesn't work.

I think it has to do with the path/querysvg part that's in the example, but I don't see much info about that. Is there some more documentation about this?
