Legal does not display field errors after validate_edit

Describe the bug

During registration, after checking entries, if there are errors with the legal fields (unchecked boxes, e.g.), the fields are not highlighted as expected with error information.

Should be fixed already by my commits for version 2.0.1. However I would appreciate a brief review before closing this issue.
