Unknown interaction involving object builder causes app to ignore all keypresses

Observed an interaction involving the object builder where attempting to open a string sub editor caused the application to briefly flicker, then no longer respond to inputs. The issue persisted through application restarts (webpack dev server hot reload). Opening a new terminal session and starting the app again resolved

There may be an interaction involving moving too quickly setting the application into a corrupt state
