Zotonic support for long-running processes.

If you develop interactive websites with comet and websocket support you somehow have to manage long running processes separate from the user's session.

It would be very nice to have some sort of support from zotonic for this.

Personally I have solved the problem by created two specialized modules for this. One is called mod_reg. This acts as a process registry, and mod_pool which allows one to start new process pools for long running processes.

Does any have another idea?
