We hope the open-source community can be promptly informed that ollama supports the yi-1.5 series. We have updated the list of example models in the README.md. Thank you for your time. @jmorganca

The examples on the list are some of the most popular models in Ollama. I don't know if this model will make it on the list.

Based on download numbers, our model deserves to be included in this list as it surpasses models like Neural Chat. We hope you will consider adding our model to this list so that more people can learn about us. This will benefit both us and the community.

Hi @WolfTheDeveloper

We believe including Yi-1.5 on the list would benefit all sides, and here's why:

1. Good performance

The Yi models have demonstrated strength. Specifically, Yi-Large-Preview is ranked just two places behind the latest GPT-4o in the verified category of the ApacaEval (2024/05).

Beyond benchmarks, the community has also provided positive feedback on the performance of the recently open-sourced Yi-1.5 (5/13).

2. Proven collaboration

Ollama and Yi have a strong history of collaboration:

  • Ollama integrated the Yi model when it was first open-sourced in 2023/11.
  • Moreover, the integration of Yi-1.5 was impressively swift, happening on the same day it was open-sourced (5/13).
  • Additionally, now Ollama is actively seeking to establish connections with the team behind Yi (of course we've already connected).

  • Besides, we're writing the tutorial of "Running Yi-1.5 on Ollama", and will add it to Yi-1.5 README.

3. User convenience

Adding Yi-1.5 to the list also provides Ollama users with more quick and diverse options.
