Cryopreservation of a soil microbiome using a Stirling Cycle approach - a genomic assessment

Introduction

This project explores the cryopreservation of soil samples, a crucial aspect of advancing microbiome research. We focus on maintaining the integrity of the soil microbiome, which is often stored in refrigerated or frozen states by various institutions. Our study involves the use of a controlled rate cooler to assess the genomic content of a representative soil sample before and after cryopreservation. We also compare two cryopreservation methods.
