Overview of Paper

This paper analyzes General Social Survey (GSS) data from 1974 through 2022 to understand how demographic factors, political views, and party identification impact perceptions of the emotional viability of women to serve in politics.

File Structure

The repo is structured as the following:

  • inputs contains the literature and data sources used in this analysis including the raw data.

  • outputs contains the files used to generate the paper, including the cleaned data sets, model, Quarto document, and bibliography file, as well as the PDF of the paper.

  • scripts contains the R scripts used to simulate, download, clean, model, and validate the data.
