MancJS

Offline Application Walkthrough

The tutorial will take place at the MancJS meetup in August, on the 7th at 7pm in TechHub Manchester.

What you will need

  • Jekyll
  • A modern web browser, ideally Google Chrome because of it's excellent inspector

The steps

Before the session starts I will push the following staged branches to help walk through the process:

  • stage-0 the basic application
  • stage-1 an offline appcache file to trigger offline mode
  • stage-2 css attached to the appcache to render properly when offline
  • stage-3 application working online after breaking between stages 0-2
  • stage-4 application works fully offline
  • stage-5 changes to the JS application and how to make sure we update our code
  • stage-6 letting the user know that there's a change
  • stage-7 localStorage to save the state of our application

Made with Jekyll-Bootstrap

For all usage and documentation please see: http://jekyllbootstrap.com. Version 0.3.0.
