Download the OpenNI Binaries, OpenNI Compliant Hardware Binaries and OpenNI Compliant Middleware Binaries from http://www.openni.org/openni-sdk/openni-sdk-history-2/ for your system. Extract them and install them as root.
OpenNI 2 is currently not supported. http://www.openni.org/openni-migration-guide/
To build the project you also need to install JOGL 2 https://jogamp.org/jogl
