zip-and-backup

Overview

Add to Windows a right click context menu option for all folders. This uses 7-Zip to zip all the files of a folder to a specific backup path.

Installation

To use this program a number of changes need to be made to to the batch files and the registry file. To do this follow these steps:

1. Copy the "zip-and-backup" directory to your destination of choice
2. Edit "add-backup-context-option.reg" and change the path to where you have copied the directory to
3. Edit "backup-folder.cmd" and change the "backupDirectory" variable to where you want files to be backed up to
4. Edit "backup-folder.cmd" and change the "zipAndBackupPath" to the location of the "zip-and-backup" directory
5. edit "zip-and-backup.cmd" and change "sevenZipPath" to the location of the 7-zip executable"
6. Run "add-backup-context-option.reg" (double clicking should work)
7. Right click on any folder, you should see the new option "Zip and Backup folder", click it and make sure everything has worked
