For version 2, the plugin has been in large parts rewritten to remove the dependency on Windows Imaging Component. Encoding and decoding is now performed by the recently released jxrlib. This means the plugin is now more or less platform-independent and has been tested successfully on Ubuntu 10.10.

Other changes from version 1:

• More advanced options in save dialog, including alpha channel quality
• Black-white indexed images are now saved in the appropriate pixel format
