This webscraping project used Python's Scrapy package to scrape all the recipes from http://www.epicurious.com in order to [1] create a recipe recommendation app (created with R Shiny) that provides the top-rated recipes that match a user's input criteria (recipe complexity, type of meal, ingredients specified, etc.), and [2] approximte American taste-preferences for data analysis and visualization aimed at identifying market entrance opportunities for chefs looking to open a new restaurant in New York City.
