add functionality to runTheMatrix to allow properties of specific workflows to be overridden when the workflow is defined. This could be extended to override specific steps within a workflow, but I did not do that. Initial use case is to reduce the # of events in some workflows so that they run reliably within 1 hour in the IBs.
