GWT-REST is an asynchronous RESTful client implementation for GWT.

GWT-REST can be used alongside GWT-RPC or as a replacement for it. The intent is to provide a drop-in solution for communicating with REST web services that may or may not be implemented in Java. A set of generic interfaces is provided along with implementations for JSON and Rails in this first release. Extending this for XML and other server side conventions like Jersey or RESTlet should be a small effort for interested parties.

Build:

From the "src" directory, run 
	jar cvf /path/to/your/rails-app/app/gwt/gwt-rails-project-name/lib/gwt-rest.jar .

Usage:

Add this to your module's .gwt.xml file:

<inherits name="com.kaboomerang.gwt.rest.REST"/>

To manage a "project" resource with a Rails and JSON back end:

1) Implement the Resource interface for a model class, ProjectResource.

2) Use populateFromRepresentation() to parse JSON into the ProjectResource's properties.

3) Use toRepresentation() to output JSON representing the project's properties.
