Welcome to the css-tools wiki!
css-tools is a suite of tools for managing a large collection of CSS.
It doesn’t contain an editor; rather it is intended to be used alongside an editor: use css-tools
to find out what needs doing, then use your editor to do it. At a later date, plugins for popular editors may be created, so as to streamline the workflow.
There is only one program in css-tools so far,
- cssi – parses and collates selectors.
The original intended use-case of css-tools
is when your website has a large volume of CSS, which has built up piecemeal over time, such that the people currently in charge of maintaining it no longer know/remember what each bit of it is for; in order to refactor and streamline it, they must first grok it – and that is what css-tools
is meant to help with.
Future plans for css-tools
are laid out in the Roadmap. Suggestions are welcome!
