ElkArte is pretty simple to install!

Things required to install ElkArte onto your website:

• 15 Minutes (Less or more, depending on your internet speed)
• PHP 7.0+ (7.1+ recommended)
• MySQL 5.6+ or Postgresql 9.6+
• FTP
• Web Host

Please Note: "Magic_quotes" needs to be turned off in order to install ElkArte.

Once you have all the required items, follow the following steps:

1. Download the most recent ElkArte files. Files can be found at https://github.com/elkarte/Elkarte/releases
2. Once downloaded, extract the zip
3. Now upload the extracted files to your host using FTP (tutorials can be found on Google)

Note: Best to upload the entire zip file to your site's location and unzip it in place.

Once you have completed all the steps above, follow the steps below:

5. Once all files have been uploaded, head over to your website URL on a browser and you will see an installation page.
6. Click Continue and you will see a page asking for your Database Server Settings.
7. Make a database through your Web host (tutorials found on Google) and fill in the fields
8. Once done, click Continue and it will take you to a page where you can choose the forum name and link for your forum
9. Click Continue and you should be taken to a page where the Database be populated.
10. Click Continue and create the forum account details (Do use a strong Password)
11. Finally, click Continue and it'll tell you "Congratulations, the installation process is complete!"
12. Just tick the checkbox where it says "Click here to try to delete the install directory now. (doesn't work on all servers.)"
13. Just click on the "your newly installed forum" link and it will take you to the forum Index.
14. Voila! There you have it! Your own forum!.
