This talk discusses event delegation, message passing & the difference between both. Eventing is dealt with briefly, with most of the focus on several messaging patterns that translate well to JavaScript environments (both browser and node, etc.).
The pattern diagrams, names and descriptions that appear in the messaging section of this slide deck have been graciously made available/possible by Gregor Hohpe and Bobby Woolf - authors of "Enterprise Integration Patterns" (patters are available under the Creative Commons Attribution license).
