With this it is possible to create a Lisp application and install it just like a plain C/C++ GNU autotools project. It enables the developer to get the good of both worlds and to easy deliver full Lisp applications to the user via system wide package managers (like APT, zypper or yum).

I am sorry, but I've forgot to mention, that I took the greater part of the code I added from stumpWM. Today I looked at their license and it's the GPLv2. Therefore I am not sure what happens to your project, if you add my pull-request. I guess it will transform into GPL too.
