Usage

Make your Application Theme extends one of Theme.GuidelinesCompat.NoActionbar

• Theme.GuidelinesCompat.Light.DarkToolbar
• Theme.GuidelinesCompat.Light.LightToolbar
• Theme.GuidelinesCompat.Light.ColoredToolbar
• Theme.GuidelinesCompat.Dark.DarkToolbar

<style name="Theme.MyApp" parent="Theme.GuidelinesCompat.Light.DarkToolbar.NoActionbar">

    <item name="colorPrimary">@color/colorPrimary</item>
    <item name="colorPrimaryDark">@color/colorPrimaryDark</item>
    <item name="colorAccent">@color/colorAccent</item>
    ...

</style>

Add toolbar Theme which extends one of Theme.GuidelinesCompat.Toolbar

• Theme.GuidelinesCompat.LightToolbar
• Theme.GuidelinesCompat.ColoredToolbar
• Theme.GuidelinesCompat.DarkToolbar

<style name="Theme.MyApp.Toolbar" parent="Theme.GuidelinesCompat.DarkToolbar">

    <item name="colorControlHighlight">@color/colorAccent</item>
    ...

</style>

If your App uses ActionBar, specify newly created theme

<style name="Theme.MyApp" parent="Theme.GuidelinesCompat.Light.DarkToolbar">
    
    ...
    <!-- Actionbar theme -->
    <item name="actionBarTheme">@style/Theme.MyApp.Toolbar</item>

</style>

If your App uses standalone Toolbar in layout file, make sure to connect newly created theme

<android.support.v7.widget.Toolbar
    android:id="@+id/toolbar"
    android:layout_width="match_parent"
    android:layout_height="wrap_content"
    android:background="@color/colorPrimary"
    android:minHeight="?attr/actionBarSize"
    ...
