    Adjusted internal math to something close to accurate; scale still shows the wrong values, but at least I can now correctly calculate the width and height of a scene (tested at three different latitudes)

    Further investigation seems to show the reason for the scale inaccuracy is a flubbed imperial/metric conversion somewhere in the chain. Patched for now, see fileParsing.pde for details.

    Added diagnostic printout of scene width / height. It's the internals at fault, not the scale. Scene is reported as 26km x 21km, reality is more like 17km x 13km.

    Well, we have Mercator projection working now. I'll spare the epic tale of Googling that got me to this point, but the fun side-effect is that the scale that I thought was working before still isn't accurate. Pretty sure the map is now, so either my internal scale is off, or the scale visualization is.

    Fixed the scale to show the actual data on-screen instead of imaginary numbers. Now I just have to figure out how to make the data on-screen right, since that's the new weak link.

    starting to re-think the scale and internal math; turns out latitude is way off reality, leading to distorted maps and inaccurate scale. Guess there's no shortcut, I have to look into the heavier trig necessary to map this properly.

    First stabs at an adjustable scale; the functionality is there, but I'm really not sure about that accuracy. Some measurements seem dead on, some seem off by quite a lot. Math: apparently it's important.
