Rename site to "The OpenPolitics Network" #199
Conversation
candidates are more obvious now anyway
I like it 👍 |
Any other thoughts on this? @PaulJRobinson, you had comments I think? |
yeah sorry, I just don't like the word. 'Network' has so many different meanings and will I think lead to confusion about what we are, what we're doing, and what we're trying to achieve. It makes me think of a business networking event [shudder], or an online social network [fine if this was 2006], or perhaps a a bunch of linked up computers. I get that want differentiation from other political groups, but actually words like 'party' are an easy hook that help people to 'get' us once we want to head in that direction. Open Politics 'Project' or 'Manifesto' (or even just 'Group' although I'm less keen on this) are good for time being until registered as a party at which point it could be renamed, to something else, but right now I'm happy as it stands. |
✋ appropriate? I think that means abstain. tell me if I'm wrong with my emoticons |
depends if you mean to abstain or block - that's right for abstain :) |
yeah I don't feel hugely strongly. I just don't feel positively about the *Paul * about.me/pauljrobinson http://about.me/pauljrobinson On 15 August 2014 10:22, James Smith notifications@github.com wrote:

This is just an idea to let people try the rename I suggested in #56 on for size. I've just changed the main title, and removed the paragraph that talks about not being a party yet but aiming to have candidates, as it was a little outdated. I've explicitly not stated that we are a party called the OpenPolitics Network, that's undecided as yet.
