Idea:

The main idea is to create a platform for various small vendors to create their own websites without coding anything. Using the boilerplates we are providing to them to make it a reflection of their business.

Backstory:

What started as a revolution in the E-commerce space has turned evil as time has passed. Amazon, Flipkart, Swiggy, Zomato all have turned the utopia of Internet shopping into a Nightmarish money minting business by taking a big cut for just hosting stuff that small businesses have to sell. For a good lot of these artists who have put their soul into their work, this big ‘tax’ by big E-commerce giants is unjust and cruel. To provide them with a voice, I have tried to create a no-code E-Commerce platform that could be scaled and can be used by small businesses to use these boilerplates and create dynamic websites to their own taste.

How to run?

Build all modules:

E-Kart> ./mvnw clean package -DskipTests=true

Start infrastructure modules in docker:

The simplest way to run all the services in Docker:

E-Kart> ./run.sh start_all

To start only infrastructure services (mysqldb, rabbitmq, config-server, service-registry, hystrix-dashboard) in docker:

E-Kart> ./run.sh start_infra

Start each microservice either in local or in docker:

Local: E-Kart/catalog-service> ./mvnw spring-boot:run

Docker: E-Kart> ./run.sh start <service>

Ex: E-Kart> ./run.sh start catalog-service
