Teambox is available in two versions:

  • A legacy version of our popular collaboration solution in open-source.
  • Recommended: Our modern interface, with Box and Dropbox integrations, Gantt charting and more, is available in both cloud and On-Premise versions at http://teambox.com.

The legacy version is officially discontinued, and we recommend the modern edition to everyone.

Should I install a legacy version or use a modern version of Teambox?

The easiest way to experience Teambox is through our hosted version. We have a free plan with up to five projects, and premium plans start at $5 per user per month. Our modern On-Premise version has powerful features, bug fixes and is super-simple to install on standard VMs.

You should only consider installing the open-source version of Teambox if you’d like to learn how it works and change its functionality. Technical knowledge is required to run Teambox open-source. Recurring user maintenance and backups are recommended to keep your instance safe and up-to-date.

Using our hosted version at teambox.com means we take care of everything –security, features, support– so you can focus on getting stuff done.
