Story
The World's backstory is seperated into 4 different eras: The Era of the Born, the Era of Creation, the Era of Destruction and the Era of Rebirth.
The Era of the Born, or "The Born Era", is the earliest documented time-span. The Born Era was written to be a time-span of accelerated evolution. The "Gods" sent two seeds to an abandoned planet, the seeds from which spawned all life; The first seed was the prison for all who disobeyed the "Gods", sent to the dark, frigid side of the planet. The second seed was a haven, containing scientists, colonists and members of upper society, sent to bright and vibrant side of the planet, to research and establish a colony on the planet.
The first seed, or "The Dark Seed", landed upon the planet, and it filled it with spite, anger and hatred. As each forlorn soul poured from it's breath, the planet began to wither and die. Angry with their abandonment, the people of the Dark Seed vowed revenge upon those who sent them to a forsaken planet, and gathered themselves to form a Dark Kingdom, a new generation of people born unto the ideals of destroying the "Gods".
The second seed, or "The Pristine Seed", arrived upon the planet some time after the Dark Seed, and on arrival their expectations were shattered. They had been told that the people in the Dark Seed would have created their utopia to which they were promised, but instead, they arrived to a barren and desolate wasteland, full of bitterness and hatred.
Through years of war and conflict, the Pristine ones and the Dark ones had settled into an uneasy cease-fire. The Pristine ones unable to prosper over the Dark ones because of sheer numbers, but the Dark ones unable to defeat the Pristine ones due to their advanced technology. Small squabbles broke out over many things, such as borders, land and resources, but an overall peace was established.
After years of research, the Pristine Ones reached a pinnacle in their technology, Harnessing a natural resource found from the planet's core, dubbed "Mana Fluid", a god-like ambrosia that seemed to do everything one could need, they created an ultimate defence, a weapon they called "The Cleanse", a city-sized cannon that had the ability to rend open pinpoint wormholes anywhere within it's range, which sucked all tainted and evil life through it, to non-existence.
For hundreds of years, the Pristine used this weapon to exert dominance over the Dark Ones, forcing them into submission. The Dark Ones, angered by further mistreatment by the Pristine, rebelled and those who could escape the deadly glance of "The Cleanse" formed nomadic tribes, intent on bringing down the regime of the Pristine.
The beginning of this Era was marked with a single, fateful event that changed the history of the Pristine forever. Having established sprawling golden cities, and advanced their technology to the point of near-immortality, the Pristine had grown complacent and lulled into a sense of soon to be false security.
For years, smugglers and infiltrators of the Dark Ones had been siphoning information out of the cities, to the nomadic tribes, and using the information, and their ingenuity, they formed a miniature version of "The Cleanse", and their first target was the Pristine's Holy Memorial, which was the housing for their governmental figures.
In a single blast, which killed almost every authority figure the Pristine had, a thousand year war was sparked that in the end, lead to a penultimate destruction of the planet's life. With no leaders, the Pristine fell into chaos, and those who could respond did; Their first act being destroying everything in range with "The Cleanse".
The repeated tears in space caused massive destruction upon the planet, rendering much of it unsuitable for life. The pull of the wormholes tore giant craters into the planet's surface, from which poured fourth lakes of molten lava.
After the chaos wrought in the Pristine brought their golden cities to ruin, Order among the people broke down, and society collapsed. The entire planet was thrown into a technological dark age, with anger and distrust spread among the now homeless citizens, both Dark and Pristine, united by their own hubris of which lead to their ruin.
Having watched the previous Eras unfold from upon their mighty vessels, the "Gods", those who both the Dark and the Pristine had descended from, deemed their experiment a failure. They began to initiate a planet-wide cleanse to remove all trace of the now "infested" society.
Certain members of the "Gods" society did not think the annihilation of an entire planet was an ethical decision, and resigned from their positions, choosing to separate from the Mother vessel, and secretly form a society that prevented the total, and utter, annihilation of the experiment.
After the first attempted annihilation, which was prevented by this broken society, they were discovered, and branded heretics, and unclean by the "Gods", who sent legions of soldiers to eradicate all resistance. The repeated attacks drew the Heretics into a war with the "Gods".
The Heretics had established a small foothold upon the destroyed planet, hidden from the near omniscient view of the "Gods", from which, to this day, they use to undermine and prevent the atrocities of the "Gods".
