### p53scan README ### 

p53scan (http://www.ncmls.nl/molbio/p53/) is an algorithm to locate
p53 binding sites in DNA sequences. It is described by Smeenk et al.
(manuscript in preparation)

### Short installation instructions ###

To build and install p53scan on Linux:
 python setup.py build
 python setup.py install

To install p53scan on Windows:
 run p53scan-1.0.win32-py2.5.exe 

For additional configuration see the documentation for Python
Distutils.

### System Requirements ###

p53scan has been tested on Linux (Gentoo, amd64) and Windows XP. Other 
operating systems should probably also work.

### Software Requirements ###

o "Python" http://www.python.org/

For Windows, version 2.5 is required when using the installer.
