Greetings folks.

A bit of history...

Filmic started a long time ago. Not in the current incarnation that is found in this repository, but rather long before, in an era where I was attempting to emulate light leaks that happened in creative film photography. As such, my knowledge and understanding of the situation has shifted in a gradual manner.

This wiki page is less about useful information pertaining to "Filmic", but more about historical addendums and corrections I feel are important. Think of this as yet another completely unreliable pile of garbage, subject to the revisions that future me might append in another fifteen odd years.

Warning... none of this is terribly easy. In fact it's dreadfully nuanced and challenging. As best as I can tell, very, very, very few folks seem to have cracked the whole image formation nut, what it is, and how it work, and fewer still offer up insights into the larger problems around "colour management".

With that out of the way... read on. I've tried to append a link to this wiki addressing each of the additional information that I feel is potentially interesting to future archaeologists. Bear in mind, again, this is should be treated with the substantial caveat that I am about to likely deceive you, mislead you, and confuse you further. Read on at your own risk...
