Kessel Run is the first Software Development Unit to use Chaos Engineering.
As the DoD moves to the cloud and builds complex distributed systems; it needs to make sure these systems are resilient to failure. Kessel Run is the first Software Development Unit to use Chaos Engineering to strengthen its applications. We will discuss our journey into Chaos Engineering and how it allows us to deliver combat capability that can sense and respond to conflict in any domain, any time, anywhere.
Speakers
Omar Marrero currently serves as the Chaos and Performance Lead for the Air Force’s Life Cycle Management Center’s Detachment 12, also known as Kessel Run. He has more than 15 years experience building capabilities for warfighters serving in the Air Force. He has served in the Air Force as an enlisted-man and a government civilian. His mission has always been to provide cutting edge capability to warfighters that always works when they need it. Omar is always looking for ways to improve the capabilities and obtain the latest technology for the DoD. With Chaos Engineering he expects to provide capabilities to the DoD as it pushes its complex distributed systems to the cloud.
