Single Audit Finding Resolution (SAFR)

Ben P edited this page Feb 27, 2020 · 1 revision

SAFR or Single Audit Finding Resolution tool focuses on the high-priority post-award financial grant reporting. By facilitating direct communication and increasing visibility into the state of work, the prototype dramatically 1) streamlines the finding resolution process and 2) gives agencies unprecedented visibility into single audit findings relevant to their shared grantees, thereby reducing costly duplication of effort for agencies and grantees alike

Features include:

  • create quick access to data across agencies with a grants dashboard and activity alerts.
  • invite people at different agencies and from the grant recipient to collaborate and increasing the visibility of finding resolution process.
  • A comments section to improve communication in a normally siloed process between grantees and affected agencies and between agencies.
  • We usability tested and demoed the prototype to the federal grants community and received positive feedback. While we were working on this, policy for grants shared services changed and new tools have to be approved through one federal team who works on a timeline of years so we had to pivot and this lives as a proof of concept that we could inform new way of managing grants and a later RFP.
