We are a custom DayZ community who run 3 mod'd PC servers and 2 mod'd console, for Xbox and PlayStation. We pride ourselves on being community driven where all players have a voice in how we shape our particular flavors of DayZ. We aim for more realistic and challenging gameplay, which means we don't use mutants or dinos or anything like that. We want to provide a challenging gameplay experience whether you are into PvP or PvE. Join our community and help shape our world!
Great questions! 80% of the map is PvE, the other 20% is PvP zones. This allows for players to choose how they want to play the game and enables us to support a larger audience base. We try not to have a many rules to keep things as simple as possible, but there are a few around player to player interaction and base build & raiding...
You are free to explore the map free of fear of being KOS'd as long as you are within PvE zones. We have a "magic bullet" feature that servers the damage to the shooter if someone tries to fire on another player in PvE areas.
You will know you are within a PvP zone as you will get both a notification and a cross sword icon in your HUD. Anything goes within the PvP zones so be prepared for murder. AI roam the PvP zones so consider yourself warned! First person perspective is forced in PvP zones to avoid wall spying.
Each player / group is allowed 1 base at a time. All bases require a territory flag to ensure that your stash won't despawn. Each territory area is 120m in radius. In PvE areas you are free to build anywhere that doesn't block off loot spawn locations, like in military or medical areas. In PvP areas the same rules apply, no blocking off of loot spawn areas like military or medical locations.
In PvE zones there is no base raiding what so ever. Any secured base with a territory flag can not be raided, even if you are able to gain access. Unsecured bases, stashes or cars in PvE zones are fair game to loot. Secure your stuff! In PvP zones bases can be raided, but ONLY by other players who base in PvP zones. Players who base in PvE zones are NOT allowed to base raid, even if the base is in a PvP zone. Unsecured stashes, tents, bases, etc. are open to looting so secure your stuff!
All vehicles and helis are use at your own risk. DayZ cars are terrible and the maps weren't built for helis so they are 100% use at your own risk. Admins will not replace vehicles lost due to lag, glitching, despawning, you name it. Annoying admins about vehicles will not win you any favors so just don't ask. To protect your vehicle, be sure to put a camonet on it when you aren't using it. This will keep it safe and help with server performance. Additionally, there is a parking meter at the Holler and the Marina where you can store up to 25 cars per player / group. Please note, all vehicles must be empty of loot to be stored in garages.
The Holler is the trader and safe zone on the map. There are multiple different traders who sell different types of goods and an ATM to keep your cash safe. Only specific items can be bought and sold, for example, clothing can not be bought or sold to the trader. Check out the different traders themselves to see what loot items are transactionable and what reputation is needed to purchase each item. Any trader item can be sold regardless of reputation, but reputation scores are needed for purchasing.
There are different ways to make money on Deer Isle. Rare fish and animal pelts can be sold for bank, weapons and high tier gear can be sold for top dollar, collectibles like Pokemon cards and electronics can be sold for top dollar.
This is a system that awards points to each player as they kill different animals, zombies, players, AI, etc. Look at each item in the trader to see how it is tagged from rare to legendary. The higher the tier, the higher the price, the higher the reputation that is needed. Upon your death, you will lose 1000 reputation points, to play smart and stay alive!

There are two different kind of events on 42 Months After, dynamic and admin hosted:
Airdrops happen two times per restart at random locations around the map. Even if an airdrop lands in a PvE zone, it is a PvP event. An indicator will show both in the 2D and 3D map markers. Entering an airdrop area will show a PvP zone notification and the cross sword icon in your HUD.
